BLOOM'S TAXONOMY:

1. REMEMBERING:

Surely you are joking Mr. Feynman is an excerpt from the autobiography of famous physicist Richard Phillips Feynman. The text discusses the systems of sophisticated Universities, freedom of a learner and traits of a student. Richard Feynman discovers these things on this tenure of study at Princeton University. He explores the institute along with various disciplines it had. He performed many experiments and learned from them. The text encloses some random conversations and anecdotes providing a better understanding.

2.UNDERSTANDING:

The essay puts light upon the fact that curiosity is the mother of al creation. Through Feynman's journey, the text encourages every curious amateur to be a professional. It also explains social interactions are equally important. Feynman is portrayed as a socially awkward person. He is laughed at even when he is right and is regarded as a social blunder. Knowledge should be accessible rather than sophisticated. A learner must be careful during every step of learning because his one minor mistake can return him all the way back to the place where he started. Carelessness must be avoided when learning is the concern.

3. APPLYING:

The first thing we can understand from the text is the flexibility of the human mind and the extent it can reach when one really wants something. Feynman's curiosity led him into various fields from biology to physics to philosophy which helped him get a better insight into his interest. A learner must be versatile and willing to break out of one's comfort zone. The actual world stands out from your comfort zone.

4. ANALYZING:

After reading this text, people were encouraged to broaden their minds and overcome their weakness. The essay is an extract from an autobiography and is written in an informal tone. The test states factual statements and the writer's opinion. It helps developing understanding the core contents of some disciplines. The text is not in the format of an ideal essay since it is an excerpt of an autobiography. There is a lack of coherence. The anecdotes and random conversations break the chain of information.

5. EVALUATING:

The text is quite filled with humor and has an informal tone to it. The excerpt is little hard to understand since it accompanies a series of incoherent conversations. The text in itself is quite inspiring it helps in seeing the world through a broader spectrum. Though it seems hypothetical and nearly impossible to believe the fact how the writer shifts from one discipline to completely different. But given to Feynman's incredible ability to find relations in most parallel things, it must be possible which is quite inspiring.
